kicked the weekend off with a happy hour and a delicious byob dinner with some close friends. i enjoyed myself a bit too much (byob can be dangerous) so we laid low for most of saturday and sunday. these are just a couple of shots from around the house and new additions to my closet.

getting to work

our first project of 2011 is to revamp our work area. right now its a mess of letters, pens... pretty much a dumping ground for anything miscellaneous. hopefully after this weekend it will look more like these lovely work areas.

luxe for less - prada perforated sandals

my absolute favorite thing from emily's {cupcakes and cashmere} closet are her perforated prada booties. i love the girly blush color and how they pair well with just about any outfit. unfortunately, even if they weren't sold out, the $795 price tag doesn't currently fit my budget.

and then i found these. and while the color isn't quite as lush and the back of the shoe mirrors prada's sandal version (not emily's bootie), they are a great match. admittedly these won't completely fulfill my prada dreams, but they're perfect for just $55!

i bought this lbd back in december knowing it would be perfect for holiday parties and winter events. surprisingly though, the holidays flew by without a chance to wear it. this weekend we had a wedding to attend (a rarity during a cold chicago winter) which was the perfect event to put it on display! the black lace adds a touch of elegance, while the sexy detailing in the back adds an extra oomph to an otherwise classic dress.

a busy, busy weekend. photos are from the beautiful wedding we attended saturday.

on sunday i went to the bears play off game. it was too cold to take pictures and since they lost i'm not sure it's something i want to document. aside from sunday's disappointment it was a nice weekend.

the selby has long been a favorite site, providing sneak peeks into the homes of some of the most creative people around. and now, i've stumbled across the coveted. and like the selby, the coveted provides a secret passage into people's homes, but more specifically, people's closets. and of course, not just any old closet. no. the closets of the chicest men and women alive. see more at the coveted.

stay warm

last night it was -3 outside. -3!! and the temps don't look to be getting any warmer this weekend. when the weather gets this chilly i wish more than ever our little apartment had a toasty fire place... any of these would do. but if i had to choose the first pic with the icy blues, a gorgeous dress on display, plus a fire place would be my pick. dream bedroom!
